4th/5th Hour: Mysteries, Opinions, & Government

What is your opinion about the philosophies that we talked about in class this week? How do karma, dharma, and/or reincarnation relate to your beliefs? How do you reconcile/deal with these mysteries in our lives that cannot be backed up by scientific evidence? What role might the government play in the definition and enforcement of our duty?

Culture and philosophy relate to each other because they are both based on beliefs. My culture has many customs but the most important one is to respect your elders. A personal philosophy of mines is you should live life at ease. This personal philosophy of mines is not shape at all by my culture but through my experience in life.

i think that reincarnation relates to my culture because there's a belief that what you do in life determines where you go after death. karma also runs through the culture too because it's like if you do something bad, in the end something bad is going to happen to you and you'll feel way worse. like, in your lifetime if you were a good person you will go to heaven and probably be reborn but if you were a bad person in your lifetime then you will go to hell and you will be punished down there. karma, again is just like what goes around comes around.

they're good and i have no beliefs so it doesn't affect me and my style. just do it because eventually you'll end up doing these mysteries, even if you know it or not. the government just interferes with our lives which is annoying and bugs many people. The SENIOR has shared his wisdom. PLEASE donate a $5 charge for reading this comment.

Well Karma and Dharma are two beliefs that sort of different because Karma is more of the belief tho think before you do something because you belief that there will be a consequence and dharma is a duty that you have to go through it while karma its like something you did that woul have the same or similar to what you did and Dharma is expencted. And Personally i dont believe in karma but it kinda relateds to my religion because Christinanity also believes that if you "sin' you will have a consequence

philosophie is cool to me thats what i think. reincarnation does not relate to my belief, because iam muslim and muslims don't believe reincarnation. the governmante's role is to make us pay tax and if we don't the RIS will come after us. so before that happens we pay our tax. science if based on facts and it can't find any evidence of reincarnation because that is a belife and you can't see a belife. you could aonly feel it.

For me, I dont really believe in one thing exactly. I know that my family is christian and that is the way i was brought up but im not sure if i believe in eveything that christanity involves. I am open to learn about different religions and i am open to learning about karma and dharma.

I think the philosophies we discussed in class is interesting. In my culture we believe in shamanism. Our family believes that reincarnation is real. We believe there is life after death.

First off my religion I'm supposed to "abide" by does not believe in reincarnation, karma, or dharma, so I could just stop there and say I "cant" believe in it, but realistically, I don't believe in reincarnation, I do believe there is a plan for you and I do believe what comes around goes around, so before you think about doing something horrific to someone else be prepared for something to come back and bite you in the butt. As far as duties go, in battle if you're fighting against a family member you need to sort out your priorities, in an instance where you have to kill of a family member or will be killed if you didn't, me personally I'd rather them kill off myself than lower my standards of family and beliefs. As far as government goes in that situation I would just add that government can be harsh and unfair in certain situations and leave it at that. People say everything happens for a reason, as far as my beliefs on that go I believe people get what they deserve so in a way yes everything does happen for a reason.

I think that the things that we talk about so far is very interesting and you can see that people start to see it in their lives. It is interesting that scientist can not prove this belief to see if is real or not. As for my culture it does relate to me because my parents believe that things happen for a certain reason. Like for instance if I resamble my grandpa, they would say that I am the rebirth of my grandpa, so he had become me after he died.

Philosophies has to much details that never ends. Its like the repeat theirselves over and over again until we get the point. The role that the goverment play in is the legislature. They halp make policy to help their citizens to get equal and fairness. The enforcement of our duties is to know what is right and what is wrong. Karma and dharma links to everyone's life. My beliefs is that there are many things that happen for a reason.

Karma and Dharma are beliefs not so much religion, but it does play a part in their religion. Cultures and Philosophies are alike but I look at cultures as a tradition or something that was put in your life when you were younger and you grew up with those values or morals. Philosophies to me are more like an opinion or story’s that were said and eventually people started to believe. Also I think that we can deal with mysteries in our lives by looking at them as something that you learn everyday. Without mystery in our lives, our lives would be boring and I would accept this as a challenge and you grow and learn from these kinds of experiences in everyday life. Our duty as human beings I feel is to take care of responsibilities.

Reincarnation is something that I believe in because it was something that I was raised to beieve in. Karma is also something that I believe in because i've seen it first hand. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but i thought that it had something to do with Karma, because I had returned a lost video camera like a week before I lost mine. What goes around comes around! I've never heard of Dharma Until now.

My opinion about the philosphies that we talked about in class this week were sometime thing happen in our life that we had never expect. With sometime we waiting for or dream for, it just never come.
For me I'm more at dharma. It is because we believe in doing good thing both for you and your neighbor. If we do good thing, we always happy and enjoy life. Because I believe in Christian, so karma is not what I believe. I don't believe in fate because God had plan everything for me.
I heard some elder said that sometime people reborn again and they also tell story when they died. It is interesting, but I don't belive in any of it.
The government have nothing to do with people karma or believe. By the way each one of us has different believe.

I believe that philosophy is a way to look at life in a sense in which you don't look at on a day to day basis. I think that these philosophies that we studied this week comes in contact with our modern day lives, and is a big conflict which we have with ourselves. Well...I don't really have any beliefs of karma, dharma, or reincarnation. I believe that religion is just a method or source of faith to keep us the people living and striving in a civilized manner. Science is the key to evidence of our everyday lives due to the large increase in technological advances, however I feel that there are still things science hasn't been able to explain yet. You see, government doesn't play a role in our duty at all, it is us who plays a role in the government, and decides our own roles and duties to make life better. Like Abraham Lincoln said " A government by the people, for the people!"

The philosophical subjects we discussed in class were interesting. Though the theories of how life came to be and what happens next after death cannot be proven yet. It's just something to ponder upon.
My parents are Catholics and so, they thrust me into becoming a catholic. I agree with some of the Catholic’s religious perceptions, but there are many things that I believe to be very dumb. I believe there is a God, devil, heaven, spirits (ghost) and such, but I also believe in reincarnation and other religious concepts. I think that we have a choice to be reborn as a human or another matter on earth or live in heaven after death. I believe that the religions are quiet similar than different and that they just use different terms to explain basically the same concepts. For example, karma and drama is a relationship between cause and effect... Well, there are 10 commandments to abide,in the Catholic's religion; if they're not followed, you'll have to bare the horrible consequences. Similar to the cause and effect concept.
I deal with this dilemma by not analyzing it too much, because eventually, the end will come and i'll witness and receive all the answers to life.

I think government sometimes can be unjust and cheat.I don't believe reincarnation but everyone on this earth don't believe the same thing but have their own beliefs.

I think that karma relates more to my belief than anything else. I think that mysteries that can't be solved is a little scary because we know that's its something scary. The government has a duty to protect us and help us on anything that we can't do ourselves.
